I did not know much about Montenegro when we decided to stop here. I still don't really know much about it but what I do know, I like. This is a beautiful country and the people are nice as can be. We toured around a little bit yesterday in a rental car. We did not get too far from the coast and stayed near the Bay of Kotor or the coast of the Adriatic sea most of the time. The only real reason we stayed near the water is because that's where the roads go. It's very mountainous and we did a little near off-roading in our rental. I'll get a video up soon of some helpful beings we met along the way.
All of the people we have met here have been nice and try to be as helpful as they can. Many people, particularly the younger generation speak pretty good english. The folks who don't speak the english we communicate with in the usual manner - talking in english to them, only louder. Pointing and sign language helps too.
We drove through the city of Kotor on our trip but did not stop. It looks like a great little place with an old city area right by the marina. We decided to stop by and anchor for a night when we leave this place so I'll have a chance to explore there a bit in a few days. We stopped at a little town called Pirat which is located right on the bay. It's a very old city with beautiful buildings and boat access out to two nearby islands with churches on them. We also drove to a city called Budva, located on the coast a little bit to the South of us.
Most of these pictures are either at our marina, Pirat or Budva or some point in between. One photo of Don and Charlie walking through the old city of Budva is not a particularly good picture but I posted it because I think Linda will get a little giggle out of it. Others may not get it unless you have seen Don in that shirt before.
I threw in a picture of the concrete beaches so you can get a feel for beach life here in Tivat. Oh, and I trimmed ye old beard for you honey.
